Paloma RDZ Prendes
"The world is full of colors,
it's just a matter of seeing beyond what is simply seen."
With an artistic career spanning over 30 years, Paloma discovered her passion for painting while studying for a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in Mexico City.
She started her journey in the plastic arts at the studio of Master Robin Bond, where she explored drawing the human figure and various painting techniques, forming the foundations to later continue her search for her own artistic identity and form of expression. Paloma found acrylics to be the most faithful medium for guiding the viewer to discover the stories that the characters interweave on the canvas.
Her work has been exhibited in various solo and collective exhibitions, in galleries and cultural centers both in Mexico and abroad.

About her art
On a blank canvas, I start with grand, broad strokes with no order or intention; simply large swaths of ochres, earth tones and some brushstrokes of black which guide me to discover shapes which, through color and light, give life to characters that exist in space and time. These characters tell their story, in a play of emotions where nothing is predetermined.
The stories that remain unspoken, the ones that need no explanation, the ones that don’t want to be told; by going beyond what is simply seen and peeking into their world, we are told where they come from, what they feel, that they leave behind, and what they live.
By stopping time, we see beyond appearances, realizing we are much more than what can be easily perceived. When we pay attention and delve into the images before us, we start to see through the heart, discovering that the world is full of colors, and the world resides in the heart.
