"El arte de la madera"

Like the deep roots of wood in the earth, a group of artists is formed by three friends who share a connection spanning more than 20 years.

In January 2024, they decided to unite their experiences to create a project that explores the artistic possibilities of wood, giving life and purpose to its elements. From aesthetics to social statements, they manipulate wood in its natural essence to transform it—art is born.

The group's focus is on highlighting the virtues of wood while also embracing the potential of recycling through intervention, carving, and transformation. Each piece reflects their synergy, merging individual perspectives into expressive and meaningful creations.

Maripili brings her aesthetic sensitivity and her ability to integrate design and functionality. Her attention to detail ensures that each work achieves a perfect balance between beauty and utility.

Joel conceptualizes and materializes innovative ideas, enriching creative processes and giving each piece a unique visual narrative.

Male adds a deeply human and social perspective to the group's work. Her inclusive approach and ability to foster connections strengthen the purpose behind each creation.

Together, the three artists transform wood into a medium of expression that combines technique, creativity, and purpose. Their pieces, now artworks, reflect not only the material’s potential but also the richness of their individual paths and the strength of their artistic collaboration.

About their art

Their artistic work emerges from a deep connection with wood, a natural element that represents life—a material that inspires and guides them in every creation. They engage in each project collaboratively, contributing their techniques, ideas, and individual experiences to shape their art. From selecting reclaimed materials to completing each piece, they work as one with the wood, allowing it to reveal what it wants to become and transforming it into art that tells stories.

The transformations of wood, marked by the passage of time and natural or human interventions, evoke emotions, feelings, and experiences. Its unique and unrepeatable nature becomes a reflection of our humanity—a testament to life itself.

For them, everything is a cycle: nature regenerates, encapsulating permanence, transformation, and resilience. Their creative process is a constant dialogue with this noble material, where each grain, texture, and hue inspires them to explore new forms of expression.

Through their art, they share the universal experiences that every being faces—fear, loneliness, and despair—while finding refuge in reconnecting with natural elements like branches, trunks, and roots. Along this journey, their works reveal the intrinsic beauty of raw wood and its ability to be reborn in human hands.

"Our art is a collection of emotions and personal experiences, guided by the virtue of wood, which invokes what it becomes."

Each piece they create is unique, not only because of the material’s characteristics but also because of what it contributes to the process. For them, art is a bridge between nature and human identity—a way to honor the uniqueness of wood and the stories they wish to share through it.
